Welcome to the website of the Pragat Shikshan Sanstha (Progressive Education Society), India. The Pragat Shikshan Sanstha is a unique educational enterprise, combining an intensive effort to develop individual children with an attempt to reach out to the children, teachers and parents in the government schools. It is also an ongoing intellectual endeavor, attempting to implement the best in educational thought and practice and to carry on a dialogue with researchers, government officials and general public. In addition to documenting the work of the PSS and, hopefully, raising funds for its continuance, this website will serve as a forum for information and ideas on educational practice and policy, both in India and elsewhere. Our main focus will be on pre-primary, primary and secondary education, though in some instances we may deal with higher education as well. We invite you to participate |
